PROJECT DETAILS

Suntech supplied solar modules to the internationally recognised supermarket chain, ALDI, across Queensland and New South Wales. So far, 31 ALDI locations have been fitted with almost 13,000 solar panels.

As a result, ALDI can adopt a new business format embracing a position of environmental protection while benefitting from the cost savings associated with solar power. With the cooperation of Photon Energy Group, Suntech will continue to provide monitoring, operation and maintenance services to ensure the system’s reliability.

BENEFITS

  • This project is expected to generate over 6.3GWh of electricity annually, enough to power each ALDI store by day
  • As a result of the energy saved, this project will reduce carbon emissions produced by Aldi stores by a staggering 6,287 tonnes per year
